Bambu Lab PETG Basic
As strong as PLA, as tough as PETG
The renewed PETG Basic reaches the strength of PLA Basic but stays just as tough as PETG. It resists water, UV and heat, strings less and gives a smoother surface: ideal for functional parts, indoors and outdoors.
Spool or refill?
Two ways to buy PETG Basic
Filament on a spool
Ready to print. Keep the reusable spool for your next refills.
Refill (without spool)
Cheaper and less waste: click the refill onto your reusable Bambu spool. Works in the AMS series.
View the refill →Swapping a refill
How to fit a refill onto the spool is explained step by step in the Bambu Lab wiki.
Go to the wiki →Print settings
Recommended values from Bambu Lab’s technical data sheet. With the RFID chip, your printer sets them automatically.
Dry PETG before use: it absorbs moisture quickly, which causes stringing and bubbles.
Always use glue on the plate: it helps adhesion and makes the print easier to remove.

FAQ
Frequently asked questions
What’s the difference between a spool and a refill?
It’s the same filament. The refill comes without a spool, costs less and clicks onto a reusable Bambu spool. It has its own product page: PETG Basic (refill).
When should I choose PETG instead of PLA?
For parts that have to withstand heat, moisture, UV or knocks: outdoors, in the bathroom or as functional parts. PETG Basic keeps its shape up to about 70 °C, PLA up to about 55 °C. For decorative prints, PLA is easier.
Does PETG Basic work in the AMS?
Yes, in the whole AMS series, including the AMS lite. Thanks to the RFID chip, the AMS recognises the colour and print settings automatically.
Can I order a colour that’s out of stock?
No, we only sell filament from stock. Click the colour you want in the colour chart and ask to be notified as soon as it’s back in stock.
How do I dry PETG?
8 hours at 65 °C in a drying oven, or in an AMS 2 Pro or AMS HT at 65 °C. Then store it airtight below 20% humidity, for example with desiccant.
How fast is delivery?
In-stock items are usually delivered within 1 to 3 working days in Belgium. Collection in Aalst is also possible.
