Bambu Lab PLA Aero
Light as a feather, made for RC planes
PLA Aero foams while printing at high temperature. This creates tiny air bubbles inside your print, making it up to half as heavy as with PLA Basic. Perfect for RC planes, drones, gliders and other lightweight prints, with a matte finish that’s easy to paint.
Print settings
Recommended values from Bambu Lab’s technical data sheet. With the RFID chip, your printer sets them automatically.
PLA Aero is very sensitive to moisture: dry it before use. For the lightest prints, use the RC profiles from the Bambu Lab wiki, with a lower flow (approx. 0.6) and a nozzle temperature around 245 °C.

Frequently asked questions
How light will my prints be?
It depends on temperature and flow: the higher the temperature and the lower the flow, the more the filament foams. A print therefore weighs roughly 50 to 80% of the same print in regular PLA.
Does PLA Aero work in the AMS?
Usually, yes, but because the filament is fairly soft, loading or unloading can occasionally fail. If so, use the spool holder at the back of the printer.
Can I order a colour that’s out of stock?
No, we only sell filament from stock. Click the colour you want in the colour chart and ask to be notified as soon as it’s back in stock.
How should I store this filament?
Dry and airtight, below 20% humidity, for example with desiccant. If the filament has absorbed moisture, dry it: 8 hours at 55 °C in a drying oven.
How fast is delivery?
In-stock items are usually delivered within 1 to 3 working days in Belgium. Collection in Aalst is also possible.
