X2D Combo

X2D features a dual-nozzle extrusion system (main + auxiliary), inherits the advanced algorithms and AI capabilities of the H Series, and is equipped with an upgraded smart thermal control system, significantly improving print quality and long-term stability. The instant switching of dual nozzles also makes multi-color printing more efficient — faster color changes, cleaner transitions, and less filament waste. In one word, X2D is packed with high tech in a more accessible way.

Combined with the MakerWorld model platform and Bambu Studio's dedicated presets, X2D delivers a complete end-to-end experience from idea to finished object.

Core Design: Dual-Nozzle System

How It Works


In terms of mechanical design, X2D does not use a motor-driven nozzle switching approach. Instead, it employs a purely mechanical gear-andtrigger mechanism. Nozzle switching is accomplished through physical triggering, eliminating the weight of an auxiliary motor on the toolhead. A lighter toolhead means lower inertia and vibration, maintaining precise printing even at high speeds. Verified through lifecycle testing, this mechanism has completed over 1,000,000 nozzle switches while maintaining smooth and reliable motion.

Applications

Dedicated Support Printing with Different Materials

The main nozzle prints the model while the auxiliary nozzle prints support. This printing configuration not only saves significant time and material waste from filament changes, but also achieves cleaner support contact surfaces, reducing post-processing work for support removal.

X2D covers all mainstream support strategies: PLA on the main nozzle can be paired with PETG or PVA on the auxiliary nozzle for support; PETG can be paired with PLA; TPU can be paired with PLA; engineering materials such as PA6-CF and PET-CF can use ABS or ASA as support

Efficient Multi-Color & Multi-Material Printing

X2D's dual-nozzle design supports more efficient multi-color printing for filaments like PLA and PETG — instant nozzle switching, faster color changes, cleaner transitions, and significantly less waste. It also supports TPU + PLA multi-material printing, directly producing finished parts that combine rigidity and flexibility.


Bambu Algorithms & Calibration

Printing conditions change over time — nozzle wear, filament moisture — but X2D's built-in algorithm system continuously calibrates and compensates to ensure consistently stable output. Combating the instability of long-term use and making great prints reliably repeatable — this is something only Bambu Lab can achieve.

Proprietary Dynamic Flow Calibration

Dynamic flow calibration is not a new concept. Bambu Lab's Dynamic Flow Calibration goes beyond measuring a single K value — it comprehensively considers the state of the extrusion motor, hotend, nozzle, and the filament itself. Whether there is slight residue inside the nozzle, gradual wear, or slightly damp filament, the system compensates in real time, enabling premium print quality to be consistently reproduced.

PMSM Servo Motor Extruder

Bambu Lab's proprietary PMSM servo architecture establishes an intelligent extrusion governance system. It executes 20 kHz torque/ resistance and position sampling to dynamically modulate electromagnetic torque vectors, stabilizing extrusion and detecting filament grinding and clogging.

Vibration Compensation

Vibration Compensation suppresses ringing and ghosting, keeping printed details sharp and precise. Additionally, the VFA cancellation algorithm works together with the 1.5GT precision belt to reduce periodic artifacts on vertical walls, delivering smoother surfaces.
